The Hayabusa T3 is always one of my top picks because there aren’t many gloves that can compare to the level of hand protection. They also cover the smaller sizes (10-12 oz). I already reviewed the Marvel version of this glove.

The Cleto Reyes Hook & Loop glove is also a decent pick because there are usually smaller sizes plus plenty of significant color variants to choose from.

I enjoyed testing out the Revgear S5 for myself and found them to be a reliable glove that’s good for different uses.

It claims to be an “All-Rounder” glove, so that it can be used on heavy bags, mitts, and even punching faces.

But I’d never recommend a glove for many uses, and advise you to take this glove if you’re focusing on pad work with a coach and the occasional heavy bag.

It has a decent strapping for smaller hands, but if you’re likely to go much heavier with your striking or sparring then you’ll want to get another heavier pair as well.

Hayabusa T3

Hayabusa T3 has a premium look combined with excellent knuckle-to-backhand padding for protection and comfort.

And, of course, there are sizes for everyone — 10 oz all the way up to 16 oz.

The glove has an excellent double wrist strap making it the best glove for wrist support in my experience.

And if design and color options are important to you, there are plenty to choose from, with 15+ standard colors, special editions, and even neon variants.

You can use this glove safely for heavy bags, mitts, or pads, even when you’re ready for sparring. It has great backhand padding for blocking punches.

Cleto Reyes Training Gloves

Cleto Reyes Training Gloves are famous for their high-class padding and leather skin, making the glove extremely durable.

It’s a brand that’s commonly very popular with elite boxers — so you can’t go too far wrong.

It has a hook and loop wrist lock for a great fit throughout the training session, and wraps around tightly for smaller wrists.

These gloves will perform particularly well for the heavy bag and other typical needs in boxing.

Rival RS2V 2.0

The Rival brand has good padding and a wide size range making it useful for the femme fatale.

What makes it particularly good for the ladies is the ergonomic velcro strap which ensures a maximum wrist lock.

It’s normally used as a sparring glove, so if that’s your goal then you’ll be choosing the right glove.

Allow me to guide you with a few crucial considerations in choosing the right boxing gloves.

The ideal boxing glove weight/size for women

Women typically have smaller hands and wrists, making a glove size/weight of 8 oz, 10 oz, or 12 oz the best options.

If you’re focusing on mitts and pad work, you should be fine with the 8 oz glove size.

If you want a glove to use on the heavy bag, then extra padding might be needed, so consider 10 oz or 12 oz.

You need to use heavier-sized gloves during sparring because it’s safer for your opponent. You usually have to jump up to 16 oz if you want to fight.

How much to spend on a boxing glove

You can buy boxing gloves as cheaply as $20 and as expensive as $600++.

So, it can be a bit tricky to know how much you should spend when you want something of good quality that is reliably safe for protecting your hands and wrists.
