MMA Hive was founded in 2020 by Joe Bloom, a martial artist and MMA fanatic.
Joe has loved martial arts since he was a child, with some of his favorite movies being anything with Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, and Jet Li. As well as cult classics like Mortal Kombat and The Matrix.
He wanted nothing more than to turn 18 years old and start his martial arts adventure by traveling off to China to learn the ways of the fist. But, of course, life changes halted those plans.
It wasn’t until 2019 that Joe committed to martial arts training in Boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and MMA. He has been a passionate and committed martial artist ever since.
His training has mostly been on the island of Bali, Indonesia, with martial arts gyms like BaliMMA, Soma Fight Club, and RitualsJJ. Learning from experienced coaches like Andrew Leone (BaliMMA), Anthony Leone (BaliMMA), Don Carlo-Clauss (BaliMMA), Mike Ikelei (Soma Fight Club), Gianni Subba, and Luke Howard.
MMA Hive started out as just a hobby project but has now become much more. We’ve had contributing writers from various martial arts backgrounds bring their influence to help new martial artists worldwide get better at this sport we love.
