The UFC is preparing for one of the most ambitious events in its history with ‘Freedom Fights 250,’ scheduled for June 14, 2026, on the South Lawn of the White House.

Dana White recently posted a photo to his Instagram (since deleted) teasing the card in the background, which appeared to include six fights and two championship bouts.

The card is positioned to celebrate multiple milestones: the 250th anniversary of the United States, Flag Day, and the 80th birthday of President Donald Trump. This instance will mark the first time a professional mixed martial arts event takes place on the grounds of the executive residence, displaying both the sport’s growing influence and its prominent place in national culture.

The concept became public when President Donald Trump announced the event at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on July 3, 2025. Early reports suggested a July 4, 2026, date, but organizers adjusted this to June 14 to coordinate logistical aspects and broader celebrations.

This will be only the third time the UFC has visited Washington, D.C., and the first since UFC on ESPN: Overeem vs. Rozenstruik in December 2019. However, ‘Freedom Fights 250’ will be unlike any previous event in both scale and symbolism.

The South Lawn setting brings with it both a unique atmosphere and significant organizational challenges. According to UFC President Dana White, executives are working closely with White House officials, including President Trump and Ivanka Trump, to finalize plans. Attendance on the lawn is expected to reach 3,000 to 4,000, while an estimated 85,000 spectators will gather at The Ellipse for a large-scale public watch party. National broadcasts are set for CBS and Paramount+, offering visibility across the country. In addition, the weigh-ins are slated for the Lincoln Memorial, connecting the event to some of the country’s most notable landmarks.

Ari Emanuel, CEO of TKO Group, confirmed the main card will feature six or seven fights. Although no official matchups are announced, several major names, including former champions Conor McGregor and Jon Jones, have expressed interest in participating. The final lineup is still under negotiation. ‘We know what we are undertaking, but it is definitely going to happen,’ White said, highlighting the scale of the project. He pointed out the unique logistics facing the production team: ‘The octagon is 25,000 pounds, so it’s going to be incredibly challenging.’

Financially, the UFC is absorbing all costs related to the event, including adapting the White House grounds, staging the production, and fully restoring the South Lawn afterward. Restoration alone is estimated at $700,000, and the total outlay for production and event operations is expected to exceed $60 million. UFC leadership anticipates recouping roughly half of these expenses through partnerships and sponsorships.

For Dana White, the event’s significance extends beyond just spectacle. He has emphasized its symbolic value for both the UFC and the country, while acknowledging concerns about political associations due to the venue and timing. ‘It’s a history-making event,’ White said. He added that interest among fighters has been overwhelming, with the majority of the roster reportedly expressing a desire to be featured, regardless of personal background.

While the fight card remains confidential, star power is clearly a priority for UFC matchmakers. Names like Conor McGregor and Jon Jones signal the organization’s intent to present a card fitting of the occasion.

Preparations, meanwhile, continue with cooperation between UFC officials, federal agencies, and local authorities to ensure security, logistics, and crowd safety are addressed at every level. With the main event staged on the White House lawn, weigh-ins at the Lincoln Memorial, and a massive viewing party at The Ellipse, the event is positioned to deliver a visually striking moment within the sport.

‘Freedom Fights 250’ represents an unprecedented fusion of MMA and national celebration. With UFC leadership committed and plans advancing, more details on the lineup and ticketing are expected as June 2026 approaches.
